Walk Fit insoles are a package of orthodics designed to relieve foot pain, improve posture, absorb shock in your legs and ankles and realign your spine and pelvic area. We ordered the package, tried it out for a week, filmed them being put to the test and found that if you use them as prescribed, you can reap some of the benefits their idealistic website promotes.
What You Get
We ordered the standard Walk Fit package and received the Walk Fit Inserts for our tester’s shoe size (they come in sizes between five and 15 for both men and women). The order included three additional sets of arch inserts for low, medium and high arch support, the massage insole, peppermint lotion, 30-day money back guarantee and the sandal adaptors, which are small white Velcro circles that let you stick Walk Fit on your sandals, which is only useful if you wear sandals all the time. If you don’t, then it will look weird with shoe insoles on your open-toe flip flops.
The total cost for the basic package was $19.95, plus an extra $9.95 for shipping and handling. You could purchase a bunch of extras, but we would recommend starting with the basic package and working your way through the extras if you are happy with the initial results. So in total, just under $30 gets you the bulk of Walk Fit’s insole package.
Who It’s For
Walk Fit Orthodics are best for people who have mild to moderate pain in their back, hips, pelvis, ankles, feet, legs or knees. They are great if you are flat-footed and have been dealing with uncomfortable shoes your whole life and if you do a lot of walking, but are concerned about your mobility’s effect on your posture, joints and skeletal frame.
Compared to more expensive alternatives, such as lengthy posture classes, a rigorous daily trip to the gym or surgery, Walk Fit is a reasonable solution that is at least worth a try to solve pain in your posture. You should also consider how much walking you do throughout your day. If you spend little to no time on your feet, Walk Fit won’t help because it only works when you are moving. It is ideal if you live in a city and your commute involves walking, or you have a daily exercise routine that forces you to be on your feet. If you spend all day in your car, at your desk or on your sofa, Walk Fit won’t help. Also, if you have severe pain, a trip to the doctor is recommended. If you are in chronic pain you could be suffering from a serious injury and you should consult a doctor for the best advice.
Does It Work
Our reviewer tested Walk Fit for a week and reported positive results in his posture even though it took a while to break in the insoles and get used to the strange feeling which was uncomfortable at first.
His findings were similar to what users found on Amazon, which is that they were very uncomfortable during the first couple of hours, especially since he was flat-footed, but after he got a feel for it, he began to see fast results.
Walk Fit insoles are more affordable than full kits of orthopedic inserts and are definitely cheaper than buying specially-designed shoes that a doctor might prescribe. As you can tell from Amazon, results will vary from person-to-person, but we found that if you are willing to try ways to improve your posture and relieve pain in your lower body, Walk Fit is an affordable solution that is worth a try.
Negatives
The biggest drawback is getting over the first hump of their discomfort when you first try them out. Some reviewers on Amazon reported feeling a golf ball-sized inconvenience in their shoes, but Walk Fit has a clear disclaimer to wear the product for a short amount of time at first so as to break them in.
We did a lot of research online and didn’t find any consumer reports or serious warnings of Walk Fit doing detrimental damage to people’s spines, legs or posture. Bad reviews knocked Walk Fit for being ineffective while the good ones (although those could have been spammers) said it was the answer to all their prayers. Walk Fit is not a solution for people with serious injuries who need to see a doctor. If you experience pain and don’t want to shell out a lot of money, Walk Fit is worth a try.
Final Verdict
Although we didn’t take our test to the fullest extreme by employing a chiropractor and examining whether our tester’s spine was realigned or not, he did notice positive results within a week. Once he got over the pain during the initial break-in period, he felt like he was walking more upright and had better posture, which was a nice boost after sitting at his desk during the work day.
Walk Fit may not be the all-encompassing miracle solution that will solve all your spinal problems, as the ads might have you believe, but it is an affordable solution to foot pain and stress on knees, ankles and lower body joints. It comes with a money back guarantee, so if you’re looking for a way to reduce tension on your feet, it’s absolutely worth a try, especially at this price.
How To Buy
The $19.95 offer (plus $9.95 shipping) is available at Walk-Fit. After your purchase, you have the option for various add-ons and bonus offers, but we recommend the basic kit for starters.
