Nutra Sonic Facial Cleanser Review

by Dale Harcourt on September 10, 2010

NutraSonic is a new facial cleanser that is trying to capitalize on the popularity of using the word, “Sonic” in home and beauty products. Either this was a missed opportunity for Sonic the Hedgehog, or we can expect his next battle with Doctor Robotnik to be over who has the softest and cleanest teeth and skin.

Despite trying to capitalize off the recent trend, NutraSonic is an unaffiliated product and is a facial cleanser, not a teeth cleaner. However, some of the technology is similar in that it uses a rotating and vibrating brush head to scrub deep and gently and offer a better system to clean your face than by using soap, water and a towel. We ordered a sample and decided to give it a shot.

Who Is It For?

NutraSonic is ideal for girls and women ranging from their teenage years through their thirties. I take that back, let me say that it’s targeted to women in this age range, but I feel like every time I say the words, “Girls,” and “Age” in the same sentence, I sound like I’m saying something offensive.

NutraSonic is ideal if you’re looking for a quick and effective facial scrubber every day. If you wash your face every morning and you’re worried about acne, dirt, grime and spots, this is what the product attempts to eliminate. It isn’t as helpful if you’re trying to moisturize skin or reduce aging and wrinkling when you get older, but it does help to delay natural signs of aging by keeping your face clean now.

What You Get For How Much

Nutra Sonic comes with several different items, optional bonus offers and different ways to purchase. It can be a little confusing at first, but the smart thing is to do your research (you’re already here), and find out exactly what you’re getting. The basic package includes:

Nutra Sonic brushes, soap and carrying case

  • Nutra Sonic brush
  • Extra brush heads
  • Charging stand
  • Carrying case
  • Facial cleanser

The trial price is only $15 on NutraSonicTrial.com, but if you don’t return it after thirty days, then you are charged another $115 on top of that to own the product. Or, you can order the product for $15 to try it, and then $99 (instead of $115) if you want to make one payment upon the initial purchase.

The company also offers an array of additional products, but our advice is to hold off on these until after the trial purchase. The site isn’t clear if you can return the promotional product as easily as the basic Nutra Sonic, so your best bet is to see if the facial cleanser is right for you and then decide if you want to upgrade. These offers include:

  • Skin Polish Crème
  • Nutraluxe Instant Wrinkle Cure
  • Puffy eye/dark circle eraser
  • Vitamin C Stem Cell Moisture Serum

How Did It Hold Up?

We tested Nutra Sonic for a week and were pleased by the results. What was nice was that it cleaned tighter spots, like between the nose and cheeks and along the corners of the mouth without leaving the dryness of traditional washing. Also, the brushes were soft on the skin, but strong enough to clean grime away.

Positives

If you are someone who cleans his/her face every day, then Nutra Sonic is worth trying out. It helps to unclog pores while removing dirty and oily skin. We found that it held several advantages over traditional soap and water:

  • Face felt clean and soft all day
  • No dryness after cleaning
  • Cut down on breakouts and spots
  • Removed dead skin and makeup
  • Used daily with no damage
  • Soft brushes felt good on face
  • Lightweight, charges on the stand and easy to use

Negatives

The downside to NutraSonic would have to be the price, which leans a little over $100. When you throw in all the added promotions, it gets up as high as $200, but you are getting a reliable facial cleanser that will clean your face better than most products on the market. We did not use it long enough to test its durability over time, but the money back guarantee is a nice bonus in case you don’t like it.

Final Verdict

When it comes down to it, NutraSonic is an innovative way to clean your face better while being more gentle and effective. If you’re someone who likes to clean your face every day, or twice a day, then you’ll definitely get your money’s worth with this product. If you clean your face once a week, then you have to wonder if the cost is right for you. It’s worth trying out for the thirty-day trial and if you’re not satisfied, you can return it.

How To Buy

The $15 NutraSonic trial run is available at nutrasonictrial.com. You can try it risk-free for thirty days before you are charged for the full amount.
